Community Service 1

Quarterly Blood Drive

Through regular blood drives and ongoing commitment, Rotarians have contributed approximately 2,000 donations, with each pint potentially saving up to three lives. The club continues to host quarterly "Give Blood, Save a Life" events, ensuring community members have opportunities to donate and make a meaningful impact. For those unable to attend the official drives, donations can still be made at any Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center location using the club’s code, allowing every contribution to count toward The Rotary Club’s legacy of service.

As The Rotary Club of The Woodlands celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2025, it proudly marks another milestone—250 gallons of blood donated to Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.

Marathon Cheer Station

Each spring, Rotarians show their support for The Woodlands Marathon by rallying at cheer stations along the racecourse. Their enthusiasm motivates runners, fosters community spirit, and highlights Rotary’s dedication to service. With energetic cheers, encouraging signs, and warm smiles, Rotarians help athletes push through the toughest miles while creating a lively and uplifting atmosphere. This tradition not only brings people together but also strengthens Rotary’s presence in the community.

Meals on Wheels

Rotarians play a vital role in supporting homebound seniors in The Woodlands by delivering meals once a month through Meals on Wheels. Thanks to the dedication of volunteers and staff, more than 850 seniors across Montgomery County can continue living independently in their homes, avoiding the financial burden of nursing care and easing the challenges faced by caregivers.

This service goes beyond just providing a hot, nutritious meal—it offers a safety check and a warm, friendly interaction that can brighten a senior's day. With seniors being the fastest-growing population in Montgomery County, many struggle with basic daily tasks like cooking and driving, which can lead to malnutrition, isolation, and a loss of independence. By volunteering, Rotarians help these individuals maintain their dignity, health, and connection to the community.

Serving Our Seniors

Twice a year, in collaboration with Interfaith of The Woodlands, Rotarians come together to assist senior adults with various home maintenance projects. Typically held in April and September, these events include tasks such as yard work, painting, cleaning, gardening, and minor home repairs.

Community Service 2

Veteran's Day Luncheon

Each year, the Rotary Club of The Woodlands honors veterans by hosting them at a special Thursday luncheon, recognizing their service and sacrifices. This event provides an opportunity for members to express gratitude, hear inspiring stories, and support those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms. Veterans bring invaluable leadership, resilience, and commitment to our communities, and acknowledging their contributions strengthens the bond between Rotary and those who have served. Members are encouraged to participate, bring a veteran guest, and contribute to this meaningful tradition of appreciation and respect.

Literacy Book Donation

During each of our Luncheon meetings, our guest speaker signs a book, which is later donated to Hailey Elementary School.

This tradition helps foster a love of reading among young students, provides them with new literary resources, and strengthens our connection with the local community. By sharing knowledge and stories, we aim to inspire curiosity and lifelong learning in the next generation.

YMCA Dragon Boat Races

For over a decade, the Rotary Club of The Woodlands has proudly sponsored a YMCA Dragon Boat team, continuing its tradition of supporting the YMCA of Greater Houston. This exciting event brings the community together while benefiting The Woodlands Family YMCA Annual Campaign. Proceeds help ensure that people of all ages and backgrounds have access to the Y’s programs and services, allowing them to learn, grow, and thrive in a supportive environment.

Seniors Holiday Party

Each December, Rotarians volunteer with Interfaith of The Woodlands to serve a warm holiday meal to seniors in the community, helping to make the season special. While Interfaith coordinates additional holiday efforts such as grocery deliveries, gift distributions, and festive gatherings, Rotary's role focuses on providing a meaningful dining experience. Through this service, Rotarians bring joy and companionship to local seniors, reinforcing the spirit of giving and community connection during the holiday season
