We will be participating in a trip to Caborca, Mexico to support the Global Grant for Neonatal Equipment. Our club has contributed $1000 towards the project which has also been supported by clubs from Louisiana, Arizona and California. During our time in Mexico we will have several fellowship events with the local Caborca Rotarians and their families. During the 2-night stay in Caborca, Mexico (February 14th-February 16th) we will stay at a hotel in the town for $50-60/person/night. On Saturday we will visit a local ejido (neighborhood) to provide polio drops (vaccination) to local children with the support of local government healthcare workers. There is an additional $175/person cost that includes the bus shuttle fee and all costs for meals and events in Mexico. The check payment for the $175 will need to be collected to confirm the attendance. We will leave from Buckeye, Arizona on Friday afternoon (February 14th) via shuttle bus by 1pm. Buckeye is 40 miles west of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. We will be joining fellow Rotarians and some non-Rotarians (family or friend guests of Rotarians) from California and Arizona. We will commute via bus to Caborca, Mexico (about 215 miles). The best idea is to plan to arrive in Phoenix by Thursday, February 13th to prevent any travel issues. We will return to Buckeye, Arizona by Sunday (February 16th) at around 1-2pm. ***We still have 1 bus seat available!
