CONSIDER THIS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY--At our May 23 Lunch, Nancy White from the Houston based Prisoner Entrepreneurship Program provided a very compelling presentation on how they are helping convicted felons turn their lives around. Their three-year recidivism record is only 8.3% compelled to the State's 25%. If interested in helping, go to their web site www.pep.org or contact Brian Troy (Houston) at btroy@pep.org or call 832-767-0928. Volunteers are needed
At their May 2 Luncheon, The Rotary Club honored their selection of the 2018-2019 Students of the Year. What a great bunch of young people from our Woodlands Area Schools. The students, their parents and CISD can all be proud of the great accomplishments of these students.
ROTARY EVENT CHAIRS, the best way to make certain your EVENT information is included in our Club Calendar, List of Upcoming Events and in our Monthly Newsletter (The Link), is to provide the Web Master the needed information via use of our Event Form. This form can be found in the Calandar Section of our Web Site (https://woodlandsrotary.org/sitepage/calender). In addition, you may also send an email to Club Members but this will have a shorter shelf life.
In order to be included in our Monthly Newsletter, The Link, please provide your Event information to Mike Bass before the last Friday of the month.
Club Volunteers partnered with Interfaith of The Woodlands on April 06, 2019 to help our Seniors by working for a day on community improvement projects. The local high school Interact Clubs also participated in the effort. This was a fantastic opportunity to show our support for our community and provide various services to local senior citizens in need of assistance.
Our Club held its "An Evening of Elegance!" fund raising event on February 23 at The Woodlands Marriott. As part of the event, we honored Michael and Vicki Richmond for their major contributions to our community throughout the past 35 plus years.
All proceeds benefited the Rotary House. Rotary House is a Non Profit focused on providing patients from any of our five area Woodlands Hospitals a secure and affordable place to stay while seeking treatments. The Event netted $190,000 for this great cause. Once again, we wish to thank all of our Sponsors for helping to make this event such a big success.
