Montgomery County Food Bank Rotarians, family, co-workers, neighbors are needed to help in the Produce Rescue Center. The Montgomery County Food Bank feeds 1,000 of our fellow residents each day. All people interested must set up a personal account and sign the appropriate forms: FROM FOOD BANK: In this shift, you will help us sort and organize refrigerated products to get them ready for distribution to those in need in Montgomery County. Produce Rescue volunteers save tons of produce every year, helping to provide high-nutrition fruits and vegetables to our neighbors in need and keeping it out of the landfills. Every day can be a different experience depending on the inventory supply or demand, but will include either food sorting or building family boxes and senior/kids produce bags. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old to participate, and those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. This is a great opportunity to have fun (and stay cool) while you do GOOD! TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Please review our Code of Conduct Our Produce Rescue Center is a refrigerated room kept at about 45 degrees. Volunteers should bring their own coat, gloves, and hat/warm headwear. Clean out your pantry before your shift! Feel free to bring any food items you'd like to donate—regardless of dents or expiration dates. View
