The Woodlands High School

Interact Club

2010 - 2011

The Woodlands High School Interact Club is one of the largest Interact Clubs in the world with over 500 members. The club is one of five area high school clubs sponsored by The Rotary Club of The Woodlands, which provides support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting clubs.

How to join:  Interact is Rotary International's service club for young adults ages 14 to 18.  To join TWHS Interact Club, either obtain a sign-up form from a club officer, director or sponsor, or attend a meeting.   Annual dues for new members is $25 and $20 for returning members.  This pays for a club t-shirt and the End of the Year Awards Banquet.  Returning members that need a new shirt can pay $25 to receive a new shirt.

Club Meetings:  The Club meets Mondays at 7:00 p.m. at TWHS campus cafeteria.  The Fall Semester meetings dates are:

September 13

September 27

October 11

October 25

November 8

November 29

December 13

Check the Interact Club Bulletin Board located in the front entry lobby for the latest updates and information.

The Board of Directors meets at 6:30 p.m. prior to each Club Meeting.

Requirements to Letter:  In order to be awarded a letter, members must earn at least 150 points with the following qualifications:

  • Earn points through: meetings ( 4 points per meeting); community service projects ( 4 points per hour); or donations (determined by item).
  • Members must attend 75% of club meetings each semester.
  • Earn at least 75 points from service projects.  This does not include meetings or donations and comes only from working Interact Projects.
  • Earn at least 16 points of the 150 points through tutoring.  Tutoring will be awarded 8 points for every hour of service.  Special circumstances that prohibit one from fulfilling this requirment will be considered.
  • Sell 2 "Entertainment Books". Books cost $20 each and are worth 4 points each.  Each additional book sold is worth 5 points each.  Funds raised go to scholarshps for seniors. Seniors may "buy-out" this requirement for $20.

Earn at least 50 of the 150 points in the second semester.
