Rotarian Joel Kerschenbaum received The Woodlands Rotary Club's Community Service Award. Dr. Kerschenbaum founded our area's Community Clinic, which serves residents who do not have health insurance. Rose Austin, Rotary's Governor Elect, discussed Jessica Williams with Montgomery County Emergency Preparedness presented to Rotarians at their July 17, 2008 Meeting in The Woodlands. The General Manager of the Houston Dynamos, Oliver Luck, spoke to the Rotarians at their July 10th meeting in The Woodlands. The Dynamos have won the League Championship the last two years.
Interfaith Director Dr. Ann Snyder, receives a check for $2,500 from Rotarian Andy Cox during the Rotary Club of The Woodlands meeting on July 10, 2008. Dr. Snyder thanked her fellow Rotarians for the generous gift telling them the money will be used to assist families in need. Mark Cochran with the YMCA receives a check for $2,500 from Rotarian Andy Cox during the Rotary Club of The Woodlands meeting on July 10. Mark thanked the Club for its generous donations of time and money to the YMCA’s mentoring programs, which make a huge difference in helping kids stay straight. Rotarian Dan Hannon, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, presented an inspirational message to the Rotarians of The Woodlands at their July 3rd meeting. His “service to the community” message inspired many Rotarian hearts to action. Rotary Past-District Governor Marcus Junemann presents a special award to Terry Brown for “Service Above Self” at the Rotary Club’s meeting on June 26. Terry was cited for his years of service to Rotary and the community. It's been given to only 300 Rotarians over the 100+ years of Rotary. At the June 19 Rotary Club meeting, The State Association of Law Enforcement Agencies provided a special award to State Senator Tommy Williams for his active support of the law enforcement agencies in the State Legislature. Dr. Max Morley of the Rotary Club of Nacogdoches, TX presented an update to ROTARY INTERNATIONAL’S POLIO Eradication Program to the Rotary Club of The Woodlands at their August 7th meeting. Rotary Club of The Woodlands member Tom Boak gives his fellow Rotarians a history of the club at the July 31st meeting of the Rotary Club of The Woodlands.
The football coaches for the high schools in Conroe ISD gave an update to the Rotary Club of The Woodlands regarding the football programs at their school & the emphasis on student development. Left to right are Glenn Hill, Roger Holtkamp, Mark Schmidt, Ronnie Peacock, Richard Carson, & Bob Barrett. Norm Parrish was one of many Rotarians in The Woodlands who gave blood during the Quarterly Blood Drive. Rotarian Sharon Conway has chaired this Quarterly Blood Drive for several years. Christop Kuhlow from Germany is an Exchange Student sponsored by The Rotary Club of The Woodlands. He introduced himself to his sponsors during the Rotary Club Meeting in The Woodlands at their August 28th meeting. His Student Exchange Mom is Cyndy Kendall. County Commissioner Craig Doyal updated the members of the Rotary Club of The Woodlands about his activities in Precinct 2 at their August 21st meeting. Commissioner Doyal outlined how his precinct was leveraging their activities in getting more value for the money spent on projects. Rotary District Governor Roger McCabe and his wife visited the Rotary Club of The Woodlands on August 28, 2008 with Assistant District Governor Rose Austin. Rotary District Governor Roger McCabe (right) presided over the induction ceremony of 5 new members during the weekly Woodlands Rotary Club on August 28th. New members include Lee Burton, Tom Campbell, Becky Shannonhouse, Jim Eason, and Philip Johnson. Rotary District Governor Roger McCabe from Beaumont welcomed Rotary Exchange Student Christop Kuhlow from Germany at the Rotary Club of The Woodlands’ meeting on August 28th. Rotary’s Exchange Student Program has brought an awareness of world unity to thousands of students. Rotary District Governor Roger McCabe presented a motivating speech on Rotary to the Rotary Club of The Woodlands at their August 28th meeting. Jill Silman presented to Rotarians at their September 4th meeting in The Woodlands interesting perspectives on Generational Issues in The Workplace. She outlined values found in traditionalists, baby boomers, X-gens, and Y-gens. Rotarian Sharon Conway congratulates fellow Rotarian Dean Melton for his five years of continuing blood donations during the Rotary’s quarterly blood drives.
